Alan is a member of the Building Conservation Forum of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and of the Vernacular Architecture Group. He is an Affiliate of the Institute for Historic Building Conservation.
A little background on Rye property:
Rye is a centre for the Romney Marsh and Walland Marsh area and a tourist spot. It lies where the rivers Rother, Tillingham and Brede meet. Most of the town lies on the rocky heights called the Citadel, and contains historic buildings including St Mary's parish church, the Ypres Tower, Lamb House and houses on Mermaid Street, Watchbell Street, and Church Square.
